Description
The 20 Point Crumbler Wheels close the seed slot much better than the smooth factory cast wheels, especially in moist no-till conditions. These wheels are 1/2″ wide and feature 20 rounded teeth to crumble the seed slot closed. They install on the 60/90 series (including 1560, 1590, 1860, 1890, 1690, 1990, and 1895) and are made from long-life heat-treated T1 steel. These wheels often last for 30,000-50,000 acres on 40′ air-seeders, which is many times more acres than the factory cast closing wheels.
INSTALLATION.
The 20 point crumbler wheels are supplied as a complete kit for the existing 60/90 Series John Deere closing wheel arms. You remove the dust cap from the rear of the existing arm, then remove the nut from the bolt which allows removal of the existing cast wheel. We supply a new grade 8 bolt, grade 8 flange lock nut, 2 x 1/8″ spacers and the 20 point wheel which bolts back on the same closing wheel arm. You will re-use the existing bearing, so check to see if it has any play. If you need a new bearing, we have the long-life Peer SeedXTreme bearing.
