PLEASE CONTACT US FIRST, BEFORE BUYING THE MOWER. THIS WILL ALLOW US TO BEST CONFIGURE YOUR MOWER ACCORDING TO YOUR MINI EXCAVATOR WEIGHT AND AUXILIARY FLOW, IN ADDITION TO CONFIRMING AVAILABILITY OF THE REQUIRED MOUNTING BRACKETS.
With over 42 years of manufacturing experience in partnership with the Willibald company based in Germany, LIPA manufactures flail mowers and mulchers at their factory in Italy. All LIPA products are well designed, and manufactured using the latest CAD/CAM technologies, which include laser cutting and robot welders. All LIPA products use high quality materials which stand the test of time, in fact some customers have extensively used LIPA flail mowers and mulchers for over 25 years, only replacing flails/hammers and belts occasionally. LIPA has now manufactured over 25,000 flail mowers and mulchers worldwide, their quality and performance are hard to beat and they are priced less than many competitors.
The LIPA TLBE-S 90 is designed for larger mini excavators, ideally those which weigh 10,000 – 13,000 lb, to mow grass, shrubs, brush and small trees, up to around 2-3″ in diameter (it is possible to mulch bigger trees than 3″, especially in soft woods, but it will be much slower). Suitable mini excavators should ideally have a minimum of 18-20 gallons per minute of auxiliary flow, and suitable mini excavators include the Deere 50G, Kubota KX057, Bobcat E50/E55, Yanmar Vio50/55 and Cat 305.
The TLBE-S mowers are often used around fences, ditch banks, lakes and highways, in areas which are often too difficult, or too unsafe to mow with zero-turn mowers, or rotary mowers on tractors. The TLBE-S flail mowers feature high quality construction and materials, with safety chains and rubber flaps to help control flying debris. The range of TLBE-S flail mowers come standard with a heavy duty 5.5″ diameter rotor tube, with heavy duty bearings and strong seals at both ends. Each TLBE-S flail mower comes with heavy duty toothed hammer/flails, which are made from very wear resistant materials. The steel roller at the back is adjustable (with 4 settings to set the mowing height above the ground), the roller helps the mower follow the ground contours, to help stop the flails digging into the soil or rocks, to extend flail life. The rear roller also has an adjustable scraper to help keep the roller clean when operating in wet conditions.
The LIPA TLBE-S 90 flail mower weighs 760 lb (with typical mount). It has a 37″ cut width and has 7 x heavy duty tri-toothed flails. The rotor is driven by 3 heavy duty toothed belts, using a heavy duty 30 series Casappa hydraulic motor.
This flail mower comes complete with a dedicated hook-up for most brands of mini excavator, but we prefer to discuss by phone or email ahead of purchase. IMPORTANT – Some excavators will require a custom-made bracket, these include Wain-Roy quick couplers and the Bobcat X-Change Couplers, and these will incur additional charges. As stated previously, please contact us ahead of purchasing, to allow us to help you configure and price the most suitable mower for your needs.
Please note this flail mower does not come with hydraulic hoses, but they are available as an additional option. Also, this mower does not come with pins to mount the flail mower to your excavator, but they are also available as an additional option. Please contact us for more information.
If it says “out of stock” please contact us to see when more will be available. We plan to have most of the common models in stock all the time, so they may be shipped and available soon.
Always think safety when operating a flail mower! Be sure to use the mower on a mini excavator with a cab, or add a front window or screen that sufficiently protects you from flying debris. Always keep spectators at a safe distance and always shut the engine down before working on, or making adjustments to the mower.

The YouTube video below was specifically produced to cover “What to consider when buying a flail mower for a mini excavator“. While it does include larger flail mowers and larger mini-excavators, if you watch it from around 2.25 onwards – all of the principles discussed should help anyone who is looking to purchase a flail mower. These topics include auxiliary flow vs total flow, stability, features and benefits.
