With over 40 years of manufacturing experience in partnership with the Willibald company based in Germany, LIPA now manufactures high quality flail mowers and mulchers in their factory in Italy. LIPA products are well designed and manufactured using the latest CAD/CAM technologies, which include laser cutting and robot welders. All LIPA products use high quality materials which stand the test of time, in fact some customers have extensively used LIPA flail mowers and mulchers for over 20 years, only replacing flails/hammers and belts occasionally. The LIPA company has now manufactured over 20,000 flail mowers and mulchers worldwide, and their performance is hard to beat.
Our company is Needham Ag Technologies, LLC. and we are based in Western Kentucky. We are the US distributor for LIPA and offer a range of different LIPA flail mowers and mulchers, in addition to most wearing parts and service items at our warehouse.
The LIPA TLBE-S 90 is designed for larger mini excavators, ideally from 5-6 tons in size, to mow grass, shrubs, brush and small trees, up to around 2-3″ in diameter (it is possible to mulch bigger trees than 3″, especially in soft woods, but it will be slower). Suitable machines include the Deere 50G, Kubota KX057, Bobcat E50, Yanmar Vio55 and Cat 305.
The TLBE-S mowers are often used around fences, ditch banks, lakes and highways, in areas which are often too difficult, or too unsafe to mow with zero-turn mowers, or rotary mowers on tractors. The TLBE-S flail mowers feature high quality construction and materials, with safety chains and rubber flaps to help control flying debris. The range of TLBE-S flail mowers come standard with a heavy duty 5.5″ diameter rotor tube, with heavy duty bearings and strong seals at both ends. Each TLBE-S flail mower comes with heavy duty toothed hammer/flails, which are made from very wear resistant materials. The steel roller at the back is adjustable (to set the mowing height above the ground), plus its helps the mower follow the ground contours, which helps avoid it digging into the soil or rocks to extend flail life. The rear roller also has an adjustable scraper.
The LIPA TLBE-S 90 flail mower weighs 680 lb and has a 37″ cut width, so it’s suitable for mini excavators which ideally weigh 10,000-12,000 lb, in addition to preferably 20+ gallons per minute of dedicated auxiliary flow (at ideally 3500 psi). So you will likely require a minimum of 30 total gallons of oil flow per minute to use the arm or slewing functions on most mini excavators (while mowing). The TLBE-S 90 has 7 heavy duty tri-toothed flails, driven by 3 heavy duty belts with a hydraulic motor.
This flail mower comes complete with a dedicated hook-up, built to connect to your specific mini excavator model, but we prefer to discuss by phone or email ahead of purchase to make sure your mounting bracket is available. For example, some excavator models may need a custom made bracket, especially those with a Wain-Roy quick couplers, and these will incur additional charges.
IMPORTANT – Please note this flail mower does not come with the oscillating carriage shown in the images (most people buy this option as it helps the mower follow the terrain better, and its listed as a separate item). Please also note that hydraulic hoses are not supplied, but we can supply them at an additional charge (when we know what lengths are required). Lastly, this mower does not come with pins to mount the flail mower to your excavator, you should already have pins to mount your bucket, so you can use the same pins (assuming you don’t have a quick attach).
Always think safety when operating a flail mower! Be sure to use the mower on a mini excavator with a cab, or add a front window or screen that sufficiently protects you from flying debris. Always keep spectators at a safe distance and always shut the engine down before working on, or making adjustments to the mower.
