Description

PLEASE CONTACT US FIRST, BEFORE BUYING THE MOWER. THIS WILL ALLOW US TO BEST CONFIGURE YOUR MOWER ACCORDING TO YOUR MINI EXCAVATOR WEIGHT AND AUXILIARY FLOW, IN ADDITION TO CONFIRMING AVAILABILITY OF THE REQUIRED MOUNTING BRACKETS.

With over 42 years of manufacturing experience in partnership with the Willibald company based in Germany, LIPA manufactures flail mowers and mulchers at their factory in Italy. All LIPA products are well designed, and manufactured using the latest CAD/CAM technologies, which include laser cutting and robot welders. All LIPA products use high quality materials which stand the test of time, in fact some customers have extensively used LIPA flail mowers and mulchers for over 25 years, only replacing flails/hammers and belts occasionally. LIPA has now manufactured over 25,000 flail mowers and mulchers worldwide, their quality and performance are hard to beat and they are priced less than many competitors.

Please click the videos at the bottom for more specific information on the LIPA TLBE mowers designed to fit mini excavators.

The Lipa TLBE-70 flail mower weighs around 490 lb with a typical mount and has a 29″ cut width, so it’s most suitable for mini excavators which weigh between around 5000 lb and 8000 lb. The TLBE-70 ideally requires 12-14 gallons of oil flow per minute, at ideally 3000 psi. So, you will require enough additional oil flow for moving the arm and slewing, so you really need 20 gallons of TOTAL oil flow (or more). The TLBE-70 has 7 flails and 2 drive belts from the hydraulic motor, down to the flail mower drive pulley.

This flail mower comes complete with a dedicated hook-up for most brands of mini excavator, but we prefer to discuss by phone or email ahead of purchase. IMPORTANT – Some excavators will require a custom-made bracket, these include Wain-Roy quick couplers and the Bobcat X-Change Couplers, and these will incur additional charges. As stated previously, please contact us ahead of purchasing, to allow us to help you configure and price the most suitable mower for your needs.

Please note this flail mower does not come with hydraulic hoses, as we don’t know the fittings or lengths required to fit your machine. Also, this mower does not come with pins to mount the flail mower to your excavator, you should already have pins to mount your bucket, so you can use the same pins.

If it says “out of stock” please contact us to see when more will be available. We plan to have most of the common models in stock all the time, so they may be shipped and available soon.

Always think safety when operating a flail mower! Be sure to use the mower on a mini excavator with a cab, or add a front window or screen that sufficiently protects you from flying debris. Always keep spectators at a safe distance and always shut the engine down before working on, or making adjustments to the mower.

Please see the video below which shows the TLBE-70 working on a +/- 5700 lb Kubota U27-4 mini excavator. The video shows the mower working within a range of conditions, in addition to the features and benefits of this brand/type of flail mower.

The Larger TLBE-90 can be seen mulching soft wood up to 4″ in diameter in the video below. In this example its powered with a Deere 35G, but the TLBE series wont mulch hard woods this large in diameter.

The YouTube video below was specifically produced to cover “What to consider when buying a flail mower for a mini excavator“.  While it does include larger flail mowers and larger mini-excavators, if you watch it from around 2.25 onwards – all of the principles discussed should help anyone who is looking to purchase any flail mower. These topics include auxiliary flow vs total flow, stability, features and benefits.

Below is one of our customers YouTube videos. He’s running a Lipa TLBE-90 on a Takeuchi TB235. Watch 1.20 – 1.40 for the best action.
