Description
Needham Ag NA 90 R Extended Wear Seed Boots are made of the same chrome alloy material as the OEM seed boots, so they replace John Deere part number N284024 (extended wear R) or N284044 (standard wear R).
IMPORTANT. Our Needham 90 Series Seed Boots are not designed to work with drill openers which have had the middle hole drilled out and a bushing inserted into the opener arm.
Needham Ag Extended Wear Seed Boots last around 2.5 times longer than the John Deere standard wear seed boots (part number N284044). So when the installation/removal time for standard wear seed boots is factored in, most growers want the extended wear seed boots.
Needham Ag Seed Boots mount directly to the 60 and 90 series opener arms with no drilling of the seed boot or opener arm. You will need to purchase the Needham Ag 90 Series Seed Boot Bushing Kit With Bolt, even if you have a 60 series opener. (These are NOT SUPPLIED WITH THE SEED BOOTS AND NEED TO BE ORDERED SEPARATELY – SEE BELOW).
Please note, if your upgrading from the 2 piece 60 series boot to the Needham Ag seed boots, you will also need to purchase the stainless steel seed tube to fit into the top of the seed boot. We have these available, please contact us at Needham Ag.
INSTALLATION
Our NA 90 L and NA 90 R extended wear seed boots come pre-drilled for the Needham Ag bushings. So all you have to do is insert the bushings into the seed boot, align the seed boot flush against the disc and torque the grade 9 7/16″ nut on the grade 9 – 7/16” bolt. The seed boot then pivots towards and away from the disc on the seed boot bushings, which are pulled tight against the opener arm.
