Description
Needham Ag NA 50 L Extended Wear Seed Boots replace John Deere part number AN280317 (extended wear L with carbide tiles) or N280447 (standard wear L).
Needham Ag NA 50 R Extended Wear Seed Boots are made from the same chrome alloy material that the John Deere 90 Series extended wear boots are made from, and they both last around 2.5 times longer than the John Deere standard wear seed boots. So when the installation/removal time for standard wear seed boots is factored in, most growers buy the extended wear seed boots.
Needham Ag Seed Boots mount directly to the 50 series opener arms with no drilling or modifications required apart from the need to purchase of the Needham Ag 5 Series Seed Boot Bushing Kit With 3/8″ Grade 9 nut and bolt (NOT SUPPLIED WITH THE SEED BOOTS AND NEED TO BE ORDERED SEPARATELY – SEE BELOW).
Our NA 50 L and NA 50 R extended wear seed boots come pre-drilled for the Needham Ag bushings. So all you have to do is insert the bushings into the seed boot, align the seed boot flush against the disc and torque the grade 9 x 3/8″ nut on the grade 9 x 3/8″ bolt. The seed boot then pivots towards and away from the disc on the seed boot bushings, which are pulled tight against the opener arm. No drilling is required to take care of most of the up/down play common in most used openers.
Please see the YouTube Video below for more information (90 Series Seed Boots are shown, but they utilize the same principals and the 50 series).
