Description
We recommend this grease specifically for depth adjust pivots on grain drills and air-seeders, including the 750, 1560, 1590, 1850, 1860, 1890, 1990 and N500 series. It is also recommended for disc hub bearings on the John Deere 50 series openers. This grease is waterproof and doesn’t splatter or squeeze out.

Schaeffers 221 Moly Ultra is a versatile, extreme pressure aluminum complex grease. This grease is specially formulated for use in all types of heavy-duty construction, mining and agricultural applications, being used under the most adverse conditions of excessive pressure, high shock loading, extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust and moisture.
Schaeffers 221 Moly Ultra is compounded from the finest materials available and this formulation provides the following outstanding performance features.
- Ability to retain its grease-like consistency with very low leakage from bearings or pivots during periods of heat, high shock loading or dust (or a combination of all these factors). Construction equipment like excavators and bulldozers rely on moly type grease for lubricating their highly stressed pins and bushings, which are subject to constant, reversing of extreme loads and contamination from dirt and moisture.
- The molybdenum disulfide in Schaeffers 221 provides a “back-stop” lubricant, when the grease base is either destroyed or wiped away due to unexpected loads, start-up or other conditions which exceed the capabilities of the grease base’s fluid film lubrication. This “backstop” is created by molybdenum disulfide’s natural affinity for metal surfaces. The molybdenum disulfide plates to the metal surface to form a long lasting solid lubricant film. This reduction in friction results in reduced wear and a reduction in contact area temperature. This in turn leads to increased bearing life, less downtime and extended lubrication cycles.
- Schaeffers 221 Moly Ultra has excellent adhesive properties. These excellent adhesive properties provide ability to resist washout, pound out, splatter or squeeze out even under the heaviest load or vibrations.
