With over 42 years of manufacturing experience in partnership with the Willibald company based in Germany, LIPA manufactures flail mowers and mulchers at their factory in Italy. All LIPA products are well designed, and manufactured using the latest CAD/CAM technologies, which include laser cutting and robot welders. All LIPA products use high quality materials which stand the test of time, in fact some customers have extensively used LIPA flail mowers and mulchers for over 25 years, only replacing flails/hammers and belts occasionally. LIPA has now manufactured over 25,000 flail mowers and mulchers worldwide, their quality and performance are hard to beat and they are priced less than many competitors.
Our company is Needham Ag Technologies, LLC and we have been in business since 2006. Our company is based in Western Kentucky and we strive to offer the best product knowledge in the industry. We first purchased a Lipa flail mower for our own use in 2018, and became the US distributor in 2019. We offer a range of different LIPA flail mowers and mulchers, in addition to most parts at our warehouse.
The range of LIPA TLE-FP forestry shredders are designed to fit larger excavators, ideally those which weigh between around 20 and 30 tons. This TLE-FP 150 model is designed to shred brush and larger trees (hard woods 8-10″ or more, soft woods 18″ or more) in areas which are often dangerous or difficult with other types of mower. The TLE-FP range of shredders feature heavy duty bearings at both ends of the rotor.
The Lipa TLE-FP 150 shredder weighs 2750 lb. It has a 61″ cut width, an overall width of 74″, and it requires ideally 40-50 gallons of flow per minute at ideally around 4000 psi. IMPORTANT NOTE: If the auxiliary flow is greater than 50 gpm then the flow will need to be reduced/diverted on the excavator.
The TLE-FM has 30 hammers and 4 heavy duty drive belts from the hydraulic motor down to the flail mower drive pulley. The high torque shredder turns around 2000 rpm and the inside of the shredder housing is made from heavy hardox steel for good wear resistance and long life..
This TLE-FP 150 will require 3 hydraulic lines for the shredder rotor drive motor (a pressure line, a return line and a low-pressure return, also know as a case drain).
This shredder comes complete with a dedicated hook-up to connect to your excavator, but we prefer to discuss by phone or email ahead of purchase to make sure your excavator hook-up is available. For example, some less common excavator models may require a custom made mounting bracket, especially those with certain quick-hitch style couplers. Please note this shredder does not come with hydraulic hoses, as we don’t know the fittings or lengths required to fit your machine. Also, this shredder does not come with pins to mount to the excavator (you should already have pins to mount buckets on with, so you can use the same pins).

Always think safety when operating a shredder! Be sure to use the shredder on an excavator with an approved forestry package to protect the operator from flying debris. Always keep spectators at a safe distance and always shut the engine down before working on, or making adjustments to the shredder.
